Pay & Reward

Contrary to popular belief money is not a motivating factor in the employment relationship but it can be a demotivating factor if it’s wrong.  Pay and reward needs to be right in order for your employees to feel fairly treated.  Getting it wrong provides for demotivated and therefore disruptive and unproductive staff.  Pay and reward also establishes an organisation’s competitive position in the labour market determining its ability to attract, recruit and retain employees of the required calibre.

Every organisation needs to establish clarity on the principles of their remuneration system.

  • A consistent approach to basic salary
  • When, how and on what basis salaries are reviewed
  • The role of managers in determining pay
  • The role of appraisals in determining pay
  • Advantages (and otherwise) of pay scales
  • The design and purpose of bonus and commission schemes
  • Benefits - Pension schemes, healthcare, duvet days, holidays, company cars or allowances, etc

There are other ways of rewarding your staff, not all monetary such as career development, employment security, working environment, recognition etc and we can discuss these other possibilities with you.
